The Kitty Hawk on South Place, near Moorgate has long been a favourite of Flavour Venue Search. We’ve hosted our own events at this versatile venue and recommended it to many clients for private dining, office parties and all manner of events. Feedback is consistently great, and the food is pretty tasty, so we couldn’t resist popping in for lunch with one of our VIP bookers.

The ground floor has an open feel, with high ceilings, loads of natural light and plenty of space. The bar merges through to the dining area, where stylish furnishings offer a view of an open kitchen.  The lower ground level hosts additional floor space and dining tables. There’s a clever system of heavy curtains that can be configured to create private spaces for events of different capacities. At the rear you’ll find a smart private room, featuring space for 12 seated guests. This room is great for private dining and includes a screen and AV equipment, ideal for meetings and business functions.

Now about that food: The menu is a pleasing blend of modern European with some interesting touches from further afield. There’s plenty of variety and the quality is high for intimate meals and large platter service. On this occasion, we started with Kellogg’s fried chicken with Szechuan mayo and Tempura baby squid with lime aioli. Both were piping hot, pleasing crispy and appropriately paired with zingy dips. For mains, we chose a classic Rib-eye with charred onion, bearnaise and chips, which was juicy, crisp and flavoursome in all the right places. Also, the line caught Gilthead sea bream was delicious. It came with a caper tomato sauce, new potatoes and mint, all of which complimented the freshness of this tasty fish. Another satisfying meal courtesy of the talented chefs at the Kitty Hawk.
