September ’23 was an exciting month for the team at Flavour Venues & Events. We got to revisit some of our favourite venues and researched some fabulous new ones too. A delicious highlight was our lunch at LAVO, which is housed in the newly opened The Botree hotel. With its stunningly decorated dining spaces, and a menu of sophisticated Italian cuisine with coastal flair, this restaurant is destined for greatness.

LAVO is set in a desirable location, within walking distance of Mayfair, Marylebone, and Soho. This new London opening follows the popularity of their other restaurants in destinations such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Singapore. Upon entry, we immediately recognised that this was a premium venue. Before our lunch with Alex, Sales Development Manager for the group, we were given a tour of their beautiful spaces. The restaurant is set across two floors, with a sun-bathed mezzanine level giving way to a subterranean bar and dining room. The spaces are vibrant with gold and natural wood surfaces. Foliage weaves through the entirety of the restaurant, with the focal point being a large, petrified olive tree which spans both levels. There’s plenty of room between tables, and a general feel of welcoming luxury.

LAVO offers a pleasing selection of event and private hire options. The restaurant can be hired exclusively, offering capacity for up to 220 guests seated, or 360 standing. The Sotto group dining space on the lower floor has tables beneath the olive tree, available for groups of 10-30 for semi-private dining. The striking bar and terrazzo are perfect for standing receptions of up to 40, and the sun dappled Sopra dining room offers a selection of options, including exclusive hire for up to 120 guests. Each zone benefits from high ceilings and gorgeous decoration. We envisage LAVO as a strong choice for cocktail socials, elegant celebrations, and impressive dining events.

We were also given a tour of the menu, and our appetites were beyond satisfied by the delectable dishes we sampled. LAVO serves wholegrain pizzas, and fresh pasta made in house, plus a selection of lovingly prepared Italian plates. Stand-outs for us included the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare with avocado, carta di musica, and taggiasca olive dressing, which was as fresh and delicious as a Capri summer. The Ox cheeks Agnolotti with sage, hazelnuts and aged balsamic was one of the richest and possibly best pasta dishes I’ve ever enjoyed. The Filet Mignon was juicy and cooked to absolute perfection. When accompanied with black truffle French fries, it was pleasure on a plate. Every dish we sampled was wonderful, filling us with a desire to return soon and experience more of the menu.

We were blown away by the quality of the food and the beauty of the spaces at LAVO. We’ve no doubt it will soon become a true destination venue, and we’re confident our clients will love it as much as we did. We see LAVO as being the perfect spot for any private and corporate events where impressing your guests is a must.
