ABOUT THIS VENUE

The Seamus Heaney Library is named after the Nobel Prize-winning Irish poet, playwright and translator, who was a regular guest at the hotel and personally opened the refurbished room in July 2011. A unique and atmospheric space, it houses hundreds of first editions dating from the 1930s as well as a range of 20th century classics. The room is situated adjacent to The Chapel, The Seamus Heaney Library is ideal for lectures, board meetings, cocktail parties, afternoon teas, literary lunches and intimate dinners. The air-conditioned wood-panelled room has ample natural daylight and is furnished with Lutyens-designed “spiderback” chairs, parquet floors and a long oak table.
