Like all great cities, London has thrived because of its extensive waterways. With many miles of canal and river to explore, GoBoat offer the perfect solution for those who want to see the capital from a new angle. Based out of Paddington Basin and Kingston, their self-drive boats offer those with no boating experience a chance to take their crew on an adventure around some of London’s more picturesque waterways. What a fun activity for those seeking events with a difference!

We headed to their Paddington location to test the experience on behalf of our clients. Their boats are clean and comfortable, fitted with seats and a picnic table for up to 8 guests per boat. The nominated captain is given a tutorial on how to drive and steer the vessel, plus a map and guidance on how to navigate the waterways. Guests can bring along their own picnic supplies or order a selection of options from their partner KuPP.

Our experience lasted 2 hours, which gave us plenty of time to gently travel along the canal from Paddington, through little Venice and all the way past London Zoo before turning back around. The route was filled with beautiful greenery, some impressive mansions and a glimpse of wild animals. We were impressed by the friendliness of other boaters and people waving from the banks as we passed. Other hire time options and routes are available. Paddington Basin also offers a good selection of pre and post boating refreshment venues.

We had a wonderful time exploring the canal and would recommend this experience for anyone looking for fun team building activities, or to add an extra element of adventure to their corporate outings and summer parties.
