During a recent research session, we were given the opportunity to stay at the fantastic Montcalm Royal London House hotel on Finsbury Square. This 5-Star London hotel has it all when it comes to satisfying business travellers and leisure guests alike. The hotel benefits from an excellent City of London location. Liverpool Street, Moorgate and Old Street stations are all within a 10-minute walk, allowing easy access from major transport hubs. There’s plenty to see and do locally, but the venue boasts a fantastic tank-fresh brewery pub, a high-quality café bar, plus a fabulous rooftop bar and restaurant with astonishing city views. Add to this excellent spa and fitness facilities, a wealth of event spaces, plus a collection of luxury rooms, and we have the recipe for a winning hotel venue you won’t want to leave.

We stayed during October 2020 and were satisfied with the additional sanitation measures undertaken. There was plenty of distance between tables in the restaurants, hand sanitiser was readily available, and our room was exceptionally clean. We stayed in a luxurious double room, complete with underfloor heating and fantastic views across Finsbury Square. The marbled bathroom included Elemis toiletries, and facilities such as a fridge, safe, a sizeable desk and fast Wi-Fi made it ideal for corporate guests like us. The generously sized bed offered one of the most comfortable sleeps we’ve enjoyed in a while. We could have spent most of our stay in this excellent room, but there were so many exciting facilities to explore.

The Montcalm Royal London House has a great selection of event spaces for meetings, conferences, private dining, weddings, and corporate events. With space for up to 300 attendees, their selection of rooms and suites can be configured to accommodate all manner of corporate and private event settings. The on-site hospitality is second to none. The Long Arm pub on the ground floor serves tank-fresh craft beers brewed on site, along with delicious bar snacks that can be enjoyed while watching sports on their enormous screens. Burdock, situated at the front of the hotel is a modern City café-bar. It’s a great place to grab a morning coffee, evening drink or a casual lunch. This bright and airy space has lots of potential for business lunches and co-working too. The jewel in their crown is Aviary, their 10th floor restaurant and terrace bar that has been a London rooftop destination venue since opening. Their modern brasserie dishes are delicious, and the stunning terrace with outstanding skyline views ranks as one of London’s best rooftop bars.

We’ve loved The Montcalm Royal London House since it opened. We have booked many successful events and spent lots of our own leisure time there. Getting to experience the hotel as a guest confirms it as a fantastic destination for leisure guests and corporate travellers alike.
